Future health professionals in the Peace River district are getting some help from the government.
Northern Lights College has received $58,000 in one-time funding from the province.
This money will go towards two new seats to provide training for practical nursing programs in Fort St. John.
It will also go towards five new seats in the health care assistant program in Chetwynd.
Peter Nunoda, Vice-President, Education of Northern Lights College says, “the college is pleased to receive this financial support from the Province making our programs accessible through videoconference to students at located at our campuses in Chetwynd and Fort St. John.”
This funding is part of the provincial government’s almost 1.5 million dollar plan to support the expansion of health care programs across the province.
