Pimm responds to HST results

Fort St. John’s Liberal MLA has shared his response regarding the abolishment of the HST.

On Monday, Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm commented on the current result of the HST vote, saying he was a strong advocate for the harmonized sales tax, not just because of his government position, but because it’s an appropriate and beneficial tax.

Pimm says that the government will have to regress now, in order to re-introduce the PST and GST system, which will take some time.

When asked if the results will affect Fort St. John specifically, he says it will affect the city more than we realize.

The B.C. Government has estimated that it will take approximately 18 months to revert back to the previous GST and PST system.
