Students aren’t the only ones preparing themselves for the upcoming school year.
Construction on the Pomeroy Sports Center’s new school facilities is on schedule and barring any unforeseen difficulties, should be open on the projected date.
Superintendant Larry Espe, as well as the rest of the school district 60, have been spending the summer preparing for the approximately 160 students who will be completing courses in the new facilities.
Teachers recently took part in the Hi-Tech High, a seminar which focuses on technology within the classroom, to help bring the latest ideas for students to use.
The students themselves will be part of a new program for Peace River North. Much of their learning will come in the form of six personalized projects, to be completed at their own pace.
Espe says that while the classrooms will appear traditional, the process of learning will be anything but.
Schooling for the entire district starts on September 6th.
