Several injured after Chetwynd collision

Several people suffered only minor injuries despite a major crash near Chetwynd.

Chetwynd RCMP say the Monday morning collision occurred when a small two-door sedan went through a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 97 and 29 South around 9 a.m. The car then hit a full size pickup truck that was towing a travel trailer.

They say everyone in the vehicles, including several children, were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but both vehicles were completely destroyed.

Police are reminding drivers to be cautious when travelling during the summer camping season when traffic may be heavier than normal.
