Despite moving up in divisions, the Fort St. John Northern Strikers U-12 Boys walked away with a provincial medal.

This year, the boy’s soccer club moved up from tier 4 to tier 3 at the ASA Provincials tournament, which took place in Camrose, Alta. from Aug. 5-7.

The boys kicked off the tournament with a 2-1 loss, a game which prepared the team for a tougher than usual competition.

After an unfortunate second game loss, the boys competed in the tournament’s bronze medal game.

The team saved their best game for when it counted, beating their opponents 5-4 to claim the bronze medal, their second medal in two years.
