Telus responds to complaints about Internet access on Monday

Shawn Hall, a media spokesperson for the telecommunications provider, was asked for comment in response to complaints from residents that were received on Monday. He said there was a technical issue with IP (Internet Protocol) addresses that caused intermittent and random problems for customers trying to get online.

"People who were logged on weren't having any problems, but people who were trying to log on were sometimes unable to," he said.

Hall said the issue may have impacted text messaging as well, but there was no larger issue with wireless phone communication recorded. He added the IP problem was fixed later that day.

He encouraged anyone experiencing issues with their Telus cellular service to contact the Telus customer service line at 310-2255.
