Value of city construction tops $300 million

The value of construction in Fort St. John this year continues far ahead of last year’s pace, and has now surpassed $300 million.

With nearly $3 million added in July, the total is now slightly more than $302 million…and that’s nearly $275 million more, than for the first seven months of 2010.

However, July was the first month since January, that a monthly total this year was less than the comparable one last year.

26 permits were issued last month worth $2 million 947 thousand…but last July, 33 permits were issued, valued at $4 million 941 thousand.

City Revenue also continues well ahead of last year’s pace, and now totals about $605 thousand, as compared to just over $138 thousand for the first seven months of 2010.

Once again we note the big difference maker this year is the $270 million permit issued in February for the new hospital.
