Building numbers increase in August

That's nearly ten times what it was, at this time last year, when the total was just under 34 million.

Nearly nine million was added to this year's total, last month, as opposed to six million, in August of 2010, and less than two million in August of 2009.

In fact, one has to go back to 2007, when the construction value for the month was 12 million, to find an August total better than the one this year.

Once again we note however, that 270 million dollar permit issued in February, for the new hospital, represents most of the difference this year…because without it, the year-to-date total would only be, about five million more than last year.

City Revenue also continues well ahead of last year's pace, and now totals about $652,000, as compared to about $168,000 for the first eight months of 2010.
