Huskies hopefuls to hit the ice this weekend

Beginning this Friday, Sept 9 and running until Sunday Sept 11, the local Junior B team will be holding their tryouts for the 2011-2012 season.

The tryouts will be taking place at the North Peace Arena Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The tryouts are open to anyone who believes they have the skills to make the team between the ages of 17-20 and costs $75 to participate.

After the tryouts have been completed and the selection process for this year’s team is complete, the team will take part in two exhibition games. The first of the two games will be played at home on Friday Sept 16 at the North Peace Arena, while the second will take place in Dawson Creek. Both games will be against the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks.

The Huskies' regular season will kick off on Saturday, Sept 24 against the Grande Prairie JDA Kings. The game will be taking place at the North Peace Arena and the puck drops at 8 p.m.
