British Columbians using the long weekend as their last chance to go camping this summer are being reminded to watch their campfires.

Weather this weekend is predicted to be warm and dry.

Fire officials are reminding campers not to keep fires burning during windy conditions, as well as to ensure fires are fully extinguished before leaving.

They recommend having enough tools, water and people around to contain a fire.

So far this year, firefighters have responded to 74 forest fires in the Prince George Fire Centre, having consumed 381 hectares.
