Man taken into custody after barricading himself in vehicle with firearm

Members from Dawson Creek, Chetwynd and Hudson’s Hope responded to the incident on Friday afternoon. After several hours of negotiations, the man surrendered to police without incident and the firearm was seized.

Chetwynd RCMP are continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information on this matter should contact the Chetwynd detachment at 250-788-9221, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
