NEBC & Yukon Tracker Flyers ready to repeat championship season

After completing this year's tryouts and finalizing their roster, the team will kick off their season on October first, when they travel to Grande Prairie to take on the Storm. The team's first home game in Fort St. John will be on Saturday, Oct. 15 against the SISEC Selects. The game will take place at the North Peace Arena and will begin at 8 p.m.

This year’s 18 player team will have somewhat of a new look to it, as only eight players will be returning from last year's championship winning squad, with 10 new players joining the roster. Two of those players will be joining the team from Whitehorse.

As part of the club’s tryouts, the team took part in two exhibition games. The Tracker Flyers first played against Grande Prairie, tying the Storm 3-3. Their second bout was against the Peace River Royals, which the Flyers won 5-3.

Last year the Tracker Flyers won their first ever league championship, beating the St. Albert Blues in Fort St. John, in the fifth and final game of a five game series.
