Renovations running smoothly at Kids Arena despite slight delay

The renovations, which began in the spring of 2011, are moving along after a summer of work.

There was a slight delay with the new arena boards, as the ship they were on was sent back to China while en route to Canada.

Jim Rogers, Director of Facilities and Protective Services, says despite the delay, the boards and new netting should arrive by the week of Oct.3. After they have been installed, the turf will immediately begin to be laid within the arena.

Rogers also said that an estimated completion date of Oct. 24 is still quite possible to achieve. Once the renovations have been completed, he hopes the facility will immediately be open and benefit the community of Fort St. John.
