Led by the Correctional Service of Canada, Restorative Justice Week is held in Canada and around the world.
Restorative justice is a philosophy that focuses on the personal needs of those involved, encouraging the offenders to repair the damage they've caused by making amends.
The intention of the week is to share the learning and experiences of those who use the approach.
This year's theme is "Re-visioning Justice".
It promotes imagining how a restorative justice approach can be used in existing systems like health care and education.
The hope is to see these other areas examine and possibly reevaluate their definition of justice.
