Recently, a brand new organization was formed, money was added to an account, and organizers are now searching to get Club Basketball up and running in Fort St. John.
The idea of Fort St. John Club Basketball is to help support and endorse school sports teams and the development of skills consistently throughout the district. Ideally, as kids enter junior and senior high, they will have already developed a love for sports and well as the necessary basic skills.
Organizers are currently looking for people to help out in every aspect of the group, from coaching, to fundraising and commissioning the league.
The basketball club will be holding a meeting Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the North Peace Secondary School from 6-7 p.m. Anyone in attendance should enter through the gym doors and meet in the cafeteria.
The club feels that with enough volunteers, everyone involved can play a small role in making the league extremely successful. Even if unable to commit to an entire year of volunteering, good ideas are also welcomed at the upcoming meeting.
Anyone interested in donating some of their time, or has any questions regarding the basketball club, please contact Rob at 250-261-3410.
