B.C. Resource Road Management, Maintenance and Regulation

The idea is to simplify the process given that resource roads in B.C. are currently administered under eleven different acts and associated regulations.

To that end B.C. residents are invited to comment on the Natural Resource Road Act, which aims to establish a single legislative framework for the use, construction, maintenance and management of resource roads.

Public feedback is being sought through a discussion paper which is available online at www.for.gov.bc.ca/mof/nrra. and submissions will be received until December 15th.

Energy and Mines Minister Rich Coleman says the government is responding to users in the oil and gas, forestry, and mining industries.

He says all of them have indicated that resource road legislative modernization is a key to allowing them to compete in today's business environment.
