Rentco Equipment and Systems by Trail took home the prizes for Outstanding Customer Service and Nearhood Appraisal Service and the Pomeroy Hotel were each awarded Best Business of the Year.

In making their decisions, the Chamber looked at these criteria: community minded, good customer service, work environment, environmentally friendly, safety aware, esthetic appeal (both interior and exterior), and growth and innovation.

In addition to the awards, those in attendence heard from keynote speaker B.C. Chamber of Commerce Chair John Turner and were served cake cut by three of the Chamber's past presidents, Mayor Bruce Lantz, Councillor Bruce Christensen and Ella Fraser, the first female president in 1979.
