August was even drier with 19.7 mm, and that represents less than 35 per cent of the monthly average of 56.9.

However, the nine month total for the year is unofficially about 565 mm, 100 mm more than the full twelve month calendar year norm.

It remains to be seen what this will utilimately produce in terms of local area crop yields, but there are already some individual producer estimates running to 100 bushels an acre.
