Fire in grain dryer contained


Early this afternoon, firefighters were called out to a Viterra grain elevator on Elevator Road, near the east bypass. Officials are unsure how the dryer, on the exterior of the elevator, caught on fire.

They contained the blaze by dumping out the product and isolating the hot spots. The whole process took half an hour.

This isn't the first time the Fire Department has dealt with a fire of this type.
