Fort St. John Midget hockey still searching for coaches

Last week, the league’s Bantam and Midget divisions were close to being cancelled due to a lack of coaches registered for the upcoming season. Almost a week later, six coaches have registered for the Bantam Division, allowing for the entry of three teams for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the Midget Division, which is still struggling to locate anyone willing to assume the role of bench boss. Currently, the division has two volunteers, but needs at least two more in order to hold a competitive league for the players.

Even if someone isn’t willing to commit full time to the position, the league would just require volunteers to assist behind the benches during games, or help run practices. Any help is welcomed for the division.

If unable to locate coaches, the league will somehow manage to create one big team in the Midget Division, but this is a last resort, one that FSJ Minor Hockey isn’t thrilled about.

If interested in offering any help at all, or for more information, please contact Danielle Armstrong at 250-793-5599.
