Tickets still available for dinner and auctions in support of grandstand roof fund

The evening will be a prelude to the Peace Country Cody Snyder Professional Bull Riding Invitational on Saturday at the Events Centre. Connie Patterson, president of the Exhibition Association, said there are still two full tables left to be filled, as well as six more individual seats, for a total of 26 tickets still available. The tickets are $75 each, and include a full-course dinner prepared by an executive chef, as well as the chance to bid for merchandise and cash during three different auctions.

She said the live auction will include two tickets to the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Calgary from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, including the round-robin, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The tickets are for lower bowl seats at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

It will also include two tickets to the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton from Nov. 9 to 13, including accommodations at the Edmonton Marriot River Cree Resort and Casino, and tickets to the Farmfair Agricultural Showcase that is happening simultaneously at Edmonton Northlands. The tickets for the CFR are lower bowl seats at Rexall Place.

Other items up for bid include a Husqvarna snowblower, a $4,300 oak bedroom furniture set, and much more.

The Exhibition Association will host a unique auction as well on the 12 bulls that will be competing in the finals at Saturday night’s bull riding event.

“It gives the people who purchase the bulls an opportunity to win some cash if the bull they buy finishes either first, second or third in the finals,” said Patterson.

The proceeds from the evening will go towards installing a grandstand roof at the exhibition grounds, which is key to keeping people in the seats during the annual Fall Fair.

“It’s a great way to come out and have dinner, enjoy the evening and help the Exhibition Association,” said Patterson. “We really have our hopes up that we will be able to put that roof on for August, but we need this fundraiser to work.”

She added they will also be selling 50/50 tickets during the bull riding event on Saturday.

Tickets are still available for the Professional Bull Riding event, which will feature some of the best riders in the world attempting to stay on some the rankest bulls, followed by an “In the Dirt After Party” with live music provided by Fort St. John’s own Deere John Band. Tickets can be purchased through the Tiger Box Office Plus, Dawson Co-op High Performance Ticket Outlet, by phoning 1-877-339-TIXX (8499), or by going online to www.dawsonco-optickets.com.
