Tracker Flyers suffer season opening loss

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Tracker Flyers traveled to Grande Prairie to open their regular season with the Strike Energy Storm, eventually losing by a score of 7-2.

The Tracker Flyers' first period of the season was one to forget, as the boys were outscored 5-1.

Grande Prairie’s Victor Lapierre had a stellar first period, recording one goal and two assists in the opening frame alone. Lapierre would eventually finish the game with one goal and four assists. Grande Prairie’s Bradley Gaboury also had an impressive first, scoring twice on the Tracker Flyers.

Colton Gies and Mike Readman each scored a goal in the Tracker Flyers' losing effort.

The Tracker Flyers will have the opportunity to even their regular season record next when they welcome the SISEC Selects to Fort St. John on Oct. 15. That game will take place at the North Peace Arena and will begin at 8 p.m.
