The University took third place in the Primarily Undergraduate category, bested only by Mount Allison University of New Brunswick and Acadia University in Nova Scotia.

UNBC President George Iwama says he is delighted with the news, saying "we have distinguished ourselves and our region by our strong standing in the national ranking of universities by Maclean's Magazine". He adds this justifies them claiming they are Canada's top small university west of Atlantic Canada.

Maclean's University Rankings issue comes out tomorrow, October 27, 2011.
