A violation for talking, emailing or texting on a hand-held device while driving could cost you at least $167. Of course, hand-held devices include cellular phones, but also any other electronic device capable of sending or receiving phone calls, emails or other text-based messages, and “use” can include simply holding a device in a position in which it may be used.

More information related to the use of electronic devices while driving can be found online at www.bclaws.ca, under Part 3.1.
