It was a solid start to the Huskies' final game of the pre-season, as the team scored five goals in the first two periods.

Two quick goals from the Junior Canucks at the start of the third saw Dawson Creek begin to chip away at the lead, but it was too little, too late as the Huskies held on for the victory.

Game one took place on Thursday evening in Fort St. John, which resulted in a 7-4 victory for the hometown Huskies.

With the home-and-home sweep over the Junior Canucks, the Huskies earned themselves a 2-2 record in the pre-season, as they were swept by Fairview in their series with the Flyers last weekend.

The Huskies will now have a short break before they open their regular season Thursday, October 4, when they welome the Junior Canucks for their first regular season home game at the North Peace Arena.

The time off will not only give the players some time to recover, but will also provide the coaching staff a sufficient amount of time to review their potential roster for this year’s season.

The four pre-season games played were a great opportunity for the Huskies staff to observe those trying out for this year’s team, providing a bit more insight into a player's capability than regular tryouts can.
