The event was organized by the local RCMP members who will be participating in the Cops for Cancer-Tour de North bike ride.

No one was safe from the Fort St. John RCMP Thursday, as family, friends, co-workers, and even political leaders were arrested and detained at the Totem Mall until raising their designated bail amount.

Leading in the fundraising department was Fort St. John Mayor Lori Ackerman, who used her savvy Facebook skills to raise $3,200.

All $33,000 will be donated to cancer research.

Fort St. John RCMP is extending its gratitude to the citizens of Fort St. John for their generosity shown Thursday.

This year’s Cops for Cancer-Tour de North bike ride will begin in Prince George Friday, September 14, and wrap up in Prince Rupert Thursday, September 20.
