The incident occurred approximately 180 kilometres north of Fort St. John, six hours away by train. As the work site was not accessible by vehicle, emergency services drove to a nearby road and used a road-rail vehicle to reach the deceased.

B.C. Coroners Service has visited the site, and WorkSafeBC is now investigating the death. The name of the deceased has not been released.

We will update when we learn more.
