According to Environment Canada, the freezing rain could start shortly after midnight Friday as the temperature rises to plus 1.  The rain could turn to snow Saturday, with the rain coming back on Sunday when we could see a high of plus 12.

Bands of freezing rain are moving through the Central Interior.

This is a warning that an extended period of freezing rain is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

Radar and ground observations are indicating that an area of freezing rain is occurring from the extreme North Cariboo region stretching north to the Southeast Bulkley Valley region. This band of freezing rain is moving slowly northeast and is expected to spread over the Southern Williston area in the next hour or so and into the B.C. Peace district after midnight. Another band is possible to spread over these regions overnight however the freezing rain will diminish in extent and intensity as the night progresses but icy conditions can be expected to linger.
