There will be two ways for the public to help fill the team’s bus with non-perishable donations. People can either deliver their donations personally to the North Peace Arena, or can have their food ready and waiting to be picked up from a group of Fort St. John Huskies.

The team will be divided into groups of four, and will be given a designated area of the city to go door-to-door through, collecting food donations.

The bus doors open for donations at 11 a.m. Sunday, which is when the team will venture out into areas of the city knocking on doors for donations.

The team is looking to raise between 15,000 and 20,000 lbs of food this year.

Along with donations, the event is also in need of volunteers to help the day run smoothly. Volunteers can help with jobs such as food sorters, receivers or even drivers to help drive the team around the city for the door-to-door collection.

If interested in volunteering your services, please contact Allen Karasiuk at 250-261-9466 or email [email protected].
