It’s a big game for the Huskies, who are coming off a solid 6-4 win over Slake Lake, which capped off a busy and emotional weekend for the Huskies where they went 1-1-1.

Last weekend, the Huskies welcomed the Flyers to the North Peace Arena, and suffered a tough 4-3 overtime loss at home.

To add to last Friday’s OT loss, the Huskies played Fairview in a home-and-home series in the pre-season, suffering an unfortunate sweep at the hands of the Flyers, adding even more fuel to a growing rivalry between the two teams, which has produced some of the most physical hockey of the season.

It’s a big game in the standings for both clubs, as Fort St. John, sitting in sixth place (3-5-0-1) in the NWJHL standings, only leads the seventh place Flyers (2-7-0-0) by two points.

A Fort St. John victory would see them jump the fifth place Sexsmith Vipers (4-6-0-0), who lead the Huskies by a lone point, while a loss would result in the Flyers moving into a tie with Fort St. John for sixth.

Friday’s game begins at 8 p.m. and for the first time this season, it can be heard live on Moose FM. The live coverage begins at 7:45 p.m. with the Moose FM Pre-Game Show.
