"That's great news for the district," says SD60 Transit Supervisor Mike Fitzgerald. "It'll improve our fleet substantially."

All 12 buses will be replacing older buses in the district's current fleet. Fitzgerald put in his request for the buses by the end of October, and says he is pleasantly surprised to see they all got approved. Peace River North has 55 buses to run its 46 routes, including spares.

He says he will begin tendering for the new ones next week, and hopes to receive them by late March/early April. They will be switched into the fleet immediately.
