Due to the combined efforts of RCMP observations and information from witnesses, officers were alerted to a vehicle possibly belonging to the suspect.

Upon locating the blue car, authorities saw the occupants throwing items from the vehicle.

RCMP located the discarded items, which turned out to be a loaded .38 calibre revolver, along with an Air Soft gun. The revolver is believed to have been stolen from the Dawson Creek area on November 29, 2012.

The two males, ages 45 and 31, inside the car were arrested. Both males are known to police and were already on court imposed conditions not to be in possession of firearms.

The suspected target fled the area prior to police involvement, and Dawson Creek RCMP are now asking them to contact authorities so investigators can gain a better understanding of the situation.

RCMP say they will be recommending charges in this matter.

One of the males apprehended remains in police custody at this time as he already had a warrant for his arrest for Break and Enter.

Charges are expected to be forwarded in this matter on Thursday, December 13.

The investigation is still ongoing.

RCMP believe this incident was a targeted attack and public safety is not an issue going forward.
