Former NHL'er guest of honour at 2nd annual Crystal Cup

Babych will also be the guest speaker at the Friday evening Crystal Cup Social at the Lido Theatre, a tournament icebreaker event which also features comedians Rob Balston and Ken Nutt.

The following morning, players will shake off the party from the evening before, and make their way to Charlie Lake, for the beginning of the three-day, outdoor pond hockey tournament.

To kick off the second annual Crystal Cup, Babych will lead the ceremonial puck drop, signifying the beginning of the fun-filled competition. The ceremonial puck drop will be taking place at 10 a.m.

The former NHL star was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in 1980 and went on to play for the Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings throughout his 18 years in the National Hockey League.
