Previous reports by South Peace Traffic Services identified Saunderson as a Fort St. John resident, but a conflicting report from the Coroners Service says he is from Dawson Creek.
 
Although the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, road and weather conditions were reported to be poor at the time. The death is still under investigation.
