Crews still on scene after Sunday morning fire

Upon arrival, heavy black smoke could be seen exiting the building.

The Fire Department was able to protect other buildings on the same block, but the Golf Zone and Pizza Parlour building is a complete write-off.  At this time the cause of the fire is unknown and maybe for several days as investigators can’t enter the building until it’s safe.

100 avenue remains closed from 100 street to 104 street and will be closed for most of the day today.  Once the fire is out, the lanes closest to the curb on 102 street and 100 ave will be closed until an engineer can assess the stability of whats remaining of the building.

City crews will today knock down some of the exterior walls of the building in order to help fire crews get at any of the remaining hotspots.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured while fighting the fire.
