Oscars return home from Provincials

The Oscars began their tournament on March 12, when they played their first game against the Terry Fox Ravens. It was all Ravens in the team’s first provincial game, as the Ravens soared to a 70-45 victory over our Oscars.

However, the next day, it was the Oscars earning themselves a lop-sided victory, as the North Peace Secondary team handed the Mt. Baker Wild a 75-36 defeat, evening their tournament record at 1 win, 1 loss.

With the team looking to get their record up to the .500 mark, the Oscars suffered a tough defeat March 14 at the hands of the Burnaby Mountain Lions, 83-31.

Looking to once again even their tournament record, the Oscars played their final game against the Handsworth Royals, where they lost a high offensive battle, scoring a team high 79 points, only to lose 98-79.

Finishing the round robin with a record of 1-3, the Oscars did not progress into the tournament playoffs.

Taking first place in the tournament was the Walnut Grove Gators, who defeated White Rock Christian Academy 59-53 to emerge tournament champions.
