The event is held every year to raise money for the B.C. Professional Firefighters Burn Fund. Also as part of the evening, donations were collected for a local family whose young daughter had been burned.

The family spent over two months at Vancouver’s Children’s Hospital, including over the Christmas season.

Captain Brent Morgan of the Fire Department says that the money raised helped cover a number of expenses.

“They had an appointment in late February to see how the skin graphs were taking, and the burn fund paid for the air fare and their hotel while down there”

Morgan also wanted to pass on his thanks to corporate sponsors for the event as well as everyone who attended.
