Second week of spring basketball wraps up

The close games from last week continued on the hardwood this week as there was a tie between Team Purple and Team Teal. The player of the game for Team Purple was Angele Fraser, while Thomas Taylor took the award for Team Teal.

Team Red was victorious over Team Black. Jillian Wilson was the top player for the Reds, and Paiden Dyck led Team Black.


Team White fell to Team Yellow. Player of the game nods went to Jordynn McPherson for Team Yellow, Alexis Ziebart took the honours for Team White.

In the Senior Girls Division, it was a nail biter between Lube X and Northern Value. Lube X came out on top in the end by a score of 30-29. Jordan Stewart displayed some great defence and hustle in being the player of the game for Lube X, and for Northern Value, Jalena Fair was solid at both ends of the court.

Focus was the winner over D. Bauer. Pam Sandberg created turnovers throughout the game and was solid defensively as the player of the game for Focus. Olaide Aigbokhai was solid on the boards and distributing the basketball as she took the top nod for Focus.

In Senior Boys play, there were two close games. Northern Value just got by Lube X 55-52. Sam Gjernes was a force on the press; he was the player of the game for Northern Value. For Lube X, Enrique Fajemisin showed defensive leadership through the duration of the game as he took top honours for his team.

Sunlife beat D. Bauer by a score of 62-58. Tye Woodruff showed strong hustle and steady improvement and was recognized as the player of the game for Sunlife, and Andrew Stewart was draining three pointers all game, and was the player of the game for D. Bauer.
