The earthquake was centred 18 km east south east of Fort St. John near Baldonnel and at a depth of 2km.

Some of the more recent earthquakes in the area were not felt but since this was so close to the surface you could feel the quake.  One resident said it even knocked out power for a second in the Farmington area.
