Unlike previous years, winners were not recognized in specific categories. Instead, this year the top three floats were recognized, as well as a few honourable mentions. Entrants were judged on creativity, and how much time was put into each float or participant.
First place went to the Filipino Association, second spot was award to the Ride for the Disabled, and the Spirit of the Peace took third place.
Honourable mentions were given to the SPCA, NENAS, and North Peace Little League.
Events are still ongoing at Centennial Park. The Show ‘n Shine Classic Car show and plenty of activities for all ages will take place until 4 p.m., and that’s followed by fireworks this evening at 11 p.m. People are encouraged to go to North Peace Secondary School for the best viewing.
