Dana Cranston, Team Canada fall to Brazil in second game at Summer Universiade

Team Canada fell in the first set 25-15, and dropped the second and third sets 25-25, and 25-13. The Canadians hung in tough in the first set as the score was 17-15 in favour of Brazil, however the Brazilians reeled off eight straight points to take the set.

The second set was a struggle throughout as Brazil held the lead throughout, however the bright spot locally was the Cranston was responsible for one of the 15 points Team Canada registered in the set.


Brazil wrapped things up in the third set. They managed to score five unanswered points, and six unanswered points on their way to taking the set 25-13.

The good news for Team Canada is that they advance to medal round of the event. They’ll play Friday in the quarter finals against an opponent that’s to be determined at 2 a.m. local time.
