Four candidates for position of Dawson Creek Mayor

Bumstead is a former Dawson Creek City Councillor, who served from 1993 to 1998, before becoming Vice President of Operations for ICBC from 1998 to 2007, and has worked as a Constituency Assistant for former MLA Blair Lekstrom, as well as a board member for Northern Health. 

Gloslee is a newcomer to politics, and works as a Heavy Equipment Foreman for Borek Construction. 

Powell is an Arras resident who also has previous experience as a Dawson Creek City Councillor. He served on council from 1999 to 2011, during which time he was awarded the Walter Smith Visionary Award by the Northern B.C. Tourism Association. 

Lastly, Stedel is the third candidate with council experience, having been elected a Dawson Creek City Councillor from 1999 to 2008. He has work experience as the founder of Ultramodern Products Corporation, the Manager of McCoy Bros. Spring and Steering and Co-owner and Manager, Quality Warehousing Ltd. 

No current City Councillors handed in their resignation in order to run for mayor.  

The byelection is now just over two months away, scheduled to take place on September 14, 2013. Voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Encana Events Centre, and advance polls will be available on September 4 and 11 at City Hall.
