The participation was satisfactory throughout the camp and Head Coach Gary Alexander feels things are in good shape going forward.
“As far as participation, I think we’re looking alright at this time of year”, he says. “I think overall it went pretty good, we got some fitness testing in, we know where we’re at, we know what the enthusiasm is; it looks good.”
The team is preparing to trim a few players from the tryout roster prior to returning to the ice tomorrow, and is also looking forward to getting some familiar faces back on the skates that have yet to come out so far.
“Tuesday night we’re back here, and the only ones we’re making decisions on is the out of town guys that we don’t feel are quite there,” he explains. “Some of the younger ones that are from Fort St. John are still going to skate with us for a few more days, and see what we have for returnees in the next week and a half.”
He adds he expects about eight or nine returning player to start showing up on a more regular basis from this point on.
The Huskies will be back on the ice tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m.
