The Ministry is currently reviewing the mill’s application to use a new resin referred to as MDI in its oriented strand board production, which has been met by strong opposition by Sandra and several other residents, who have cited pre-plant construction promises not to use it. 

Much of the public concern is health-based, but mill management has maintained the resin is safe to use and would increase both production and quality.
