Author Ravina Bains notes more than 600 major resource projects worth $650 billion are planned in Western Canada over the next decade. They include seven major oil and gas projects here in B.C., chief among them the multi-billion dollar Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline.

She says every one of the planned projects will affect at least one First Nations community, and, among other things, she calls for better communication and transparency as businesses deal with First Nations governments.
