The VE Brandl Flyers opened with a close loss to the Sexsmith Vipers by a score of 6-5 but would rebound nicely in their next two games. The team would take on Grande Prairie in their next game and would take the contest by a score of 8-1, and followed that up with a 7-1 over the Spirit River Rangers.

The Flyers would meet the Vipers once more, this time in the finals. Fort St. John would win the game 4-3.

The game didn’t start smoothly for the Flyers however. Fort St. John found themselves trailing after the first period 3-0, but rebounded with a very strong second period as the game was tied after 40 minutes. The third period was quiet until the final seconds when the Flyers scored with 5.8 seconds remaining.
