Morrison also finished fourth in the last World Cup event in Salt Lake City.

Despite finishing out of the medals again, Morrison was encouraged by the result.

“Staying out of the spotlight has its advantages,” Morrison says. “Despite two fourth place finishes now I’ve actually managed to beat everyone on the World Cup circuit, except for Shani Davis. And I know I can beat Shani Davis.”

Morrison took 11th in the 1500 metre race earlier in the competition. The next World Cup speed skating event is in Berlin, Germany December 7 and 8.
