Prince George Mayor Shari Green told the paper that she wanted the conversation, as she stresses that it’s not only her city that has a high crime severity ranking in northern B.C. She hopes the dialogue will revolve around each community’s individual and shared challenges, and leads to action plans. 

According to the 2011 index, FortSt. John is ranked 11th, while Dawson Creek is 23rd.
