An intense low developing over the Alaskan Panhandle acting with a building ridge of high pressure over the Yukon will result in increasing east to northeast winds this afternoon. These winds gusting at times to 70 km/h with newly fallen snow will create reduced visibilities in blowing snow. As well cold wind chill values down to minus 35 are expected as temperatures remain cold. Conditions are forecast to improve somewhat later Sunday.
