Davis was found when police responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of the 250 Road and the 271 Road. At the time, police said they believed it was not a random act, and that it was related to the drug trade in the area.

Police also weren’t ruling out the possibility that a violent home invasion in the 100 block of 92 Street later that week was related to Davis’ death, as both involved shots being fired. The morning of June 7, RCMP found a number of people that had escaped a home invasion in which a firearm was used. None of the victims were injured by the suspects, but were hurt fleeing the residence.

The two incidents were being investigated separately, and no clear connection was made between them.
